As Team Freedom prepares for their first NVA event since January’s Atlantic City tournament, the team is gathering the troops to have a strong showing in Salt Lake City, the first weekend of November (5-8). Usually attending events with large rosters, the team will be headed to Utah with some missing pieces due to complications with East Coast COVID-19 restrictions. A few of their regular starters won’t make the trip as their jobs would require them to quarantine for up to two weeks after traveling for the tournament. However, Team Freedom is still touring with an impressive starting lineup, as General Manager Justin Beaumont describes.
“We look to have quality block touches and big swings from our middle hitters Matt Seifert and Mikheil ‘Zebra’ Hoyte. Additionally, our outside hitters, Josue Castillo and Chris Vaughan bring a depth of experience alongside a fiery young right-side attack with Sam Albus. Our setters Matt Elias and Ron Dunn will run the offense for the weekend, and each guy brings a unique skill set of leadership qualities. ‘When morale is high, freedom reigns!'”
The NVA Showcase in Salt Lake City, Utah, is three weeks away, and every team is hard at work in the gym, shaking off the rust and ramping up to full speed. Make sure to follow the NVA and Team Freedom on Instagram and Facebook to see tournament updates for your favorite team!
